Headteacher of the St. Peter’s R/C Primary at Sansama in the Techiman South Metropolitan Assembly, Mrs. Victoria Okubognor, has called on the Metropolitan Assembly and well-meaning Ghanaians to help fence the school.

According to her, the school, which was established in 1964 has been one of the leading grade schools in the Techiman South Metropolis as the school has over the past 60 years, produce a lot of responsible citizens in the community. However, she bemoaned the fact that teaching and learning activities are often disrupted due to the open nature of the school.

Mrs. Okubognor, said this during the 60th anniversary celebration of the school at the Sansama St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Park.

She explained that, the school lacks enough classroom blocks to accommodate learners and plead with government and the public to come to their aid.

“There are over 7,800 learners in the school but with don’t have enough classrooms for the learners, we are pleading with the government and well meaning Ghanaians to help us construct more classroom blocks for the school.

“Our KG classroom block is weak and as such, we pray to the government and public to come to our aid. The school is not fenced and as a result, teaching and learning activities are often interrupted as people get in the school compound anytime and animals also gets to our compound often.

“So we will be very pleased if the government and public can help us to fence the school.” She said.

The head teacher of the school, further disclosed that, the Sansama St. Peter’s R/C Primary School as part of its diamond anniversary aims to raise funds to buy computer to enhance the teaching of ICT in the school.

“The school was established in 1964 and we are celebrating our 60th anniversary today. Our main aim of celebrating the 60th anniversary is to raise funds to buy computers in our ICT laboratory to enhance the teaching and learning of ICT in the school.”

As the school looks forward to the future, it remains committed to its mission of providing quality education and nurturing young minds. The 60th anniversary celebration was not just a reflection on the past but a reaffirmation of the school’s dedication to its mission and its commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of its students.

On behalf of the Member of Parliament for Techiman South and Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the former Assembly Member of Sansama electoral area, Morro Effah, revealed that Hon. Martin has promised to provide the school with some computers after completion of their new ICT block.

According to him, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah over the years have helped to uplift the image of the school and will continue to do so because he aims to improve the standard of education in the Techiman South Constituency.

“We are all alumni of Sansa R/C Primary School, the school is 60 years and as a result, we all have to gather here and celebrate 60 years of excellence by the school.

“Although I am an old student of this school but today I am here to represent Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah.

“Hon. Martin has helped the school a lot, he has paid his quota in constructing a ICT laboratory for the school, he donated over GHc 30,000.00 to help roof the school when the roof of the school was ripped off sometimes ago. Hon. Korsah has today also promised to buy computers for the schools

“I would like to use this opportunity to thank all the  old and current teachers and head teachers of this school, the school has reach this level because of their dedication and hard work and we are all grateful to them.
