The Techiman South Municipal Electoral Officer of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, William Bamfo-Apori, has assured the people of Techiman and citizens of Ghana of free, fair and transparent elections come December, 2024
Mr. Bamfo-Apori expressed confidence that the Electoral Commission is thoroughly prepared to conduct a free, fair, and transparent election, ensuring a smooth and peaceful voting process.
He disclosed that the Electoral Commission, always work closely with all political parties to address any potential challenges and ensure that the electoral process is fair and accessible to all eligible voters.
He emphasized that, the Electoral Commission at all times stand by three values which are fairness, transparency and integrity.
“The Electoral Commission at all times stand by three values, that’s we will be fair, we will be transparent and we stand by integrity and everyone can attest to the fact that this atmosphere we are having isn’t new, it has always been the case but at the end of the day Electoral Commission comes out good.
“It is important for us all to note that Electoral Commission is overly prepared for the upcoming December 7th elections.
“One thing we have to take note is that, there is no step towards elections that politicians are not aware. Politicians have been involved right from registration, through to transfers, to exhibition exercise to all other activities we perform, to the extend that even when ballot are being picked from the head office, politicians drive with us from Accra to our district offices.
“Aside them driving with us, they also put their seals and when they are broken it means that the politician will know that someone has come into the back.
“So at every step of the way Electoral Commission has been very open to ensure we deliver and provide free, fare, and transparent elections to the people.” He said
William Bamfo-Apori, said the EC will come out with a robust voter register as they always do. He said all elections in the country has been very transparent, free and fair and the 2024 general elections will be no exceptions.
The Techiman South Municipal Electoral Officer, said categorically that the upcoming December polls, will be the most peaceful and successful elections in the history of Ghana.
“So at it stands now, we are doing the same, we are trying our best to get Ghana a very robust voter register, from there we will have the elections done and I say on authority that elections that the elections that we have here in Ghana is very very transparent and very free and fair because if you go to the center, you don’t just go and take a ballot paper, you have to be verified that alone is one step and when you are through, agents will have to endorse for the statement of vote, that is what we called the pink sheet.
“So at every step of the way we work with politicians and we work with their agents to ensure that the right things are done so we can assure Ghana, we can assure everybody that 2024 elections come December 7th, will be the most peaceful elections we have every had in this country
“We are committed to ensuring that the 2024 general elections will be the most peaceful and successful in Ghana’s history,” said William Bamfo-Apori, Techiman South Municipal Electoral Officer. “The Electoral Commission has taken all necessary measures to guarantee a free, fair, and transparent election, and we are confident that our preparations will yield the desired results.”
He encouraged citizens to remain calm and participate in the democratic process, assuring them that their votes will be counted and their voices heard.
