The Techiman South Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko, has called for the posting of judges and auxiliary staff to the newly inaugurated Techiman High Court.
The appeal by the MCE is a bid to make the Techiman High Court fully operationalized as soon as possible and make justice available and accessible to all in Techiman and the Bono East Region at large.
The Techiman High Court, was inaugurated on 13th June, 2024 by a Supreme Court Judge, His Lordship Issifu Omoro Tanko Amadu, on behalf of the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, Her Ladyship Getrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo.
The new High Court complex is expected to enhance access to justice for residents of Techiman and the Bono East region at large and as such, the Techiman South Municipal Chief Executive, during the inauguration of the court complex, called for the immediate posting of judges and auxiliary staff required for the operationalization of the Techiman High Court.
“I am proud to indicate that this mighty building being commissioned today, has about 22 well furnished offices, 2 court rooms and chambers for judges to run two sittings concurrently.
“Let me also add that, the government has in addition to this court, build one number three bedroom self contained bungalow in Techiman Here, for the residential Judge who will be posted to man the court.
“I therefore on behalf of the chief and the people of Techiman Traditional Area like to make a passionate appeal to the representative of Her Lordship the Chief Justice, that as a matter of urgency, they should try to post a judge and all the auxiliary staff required to make this court fully functioned to begin work as soon as possible after this inauguration.” Hon. Benjamin told the gathering.
Hon. Benjamin Yaw Gyarko, explained that, the Techiman Municipal Security Council will work closely with the high court to deliver justice to the good people of Techiman
“Collaborate with the Municipal Security Council, to help maintain peace and security in the municipality by ensuring that, those who unjustifiably indulge in crime and constantly commit trouble to make the municipality ungovernable should suffer for their action.” He said
