The Paramount Chief of the Techiman Traditional Area and President of the Techiman Traditional Council, Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, extended warm wishes for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to the people of Techiman, Bono East region and Ghana at large.

Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, Christmas message, was one filled with unity, hope and optimism for the future of Techiman.

Speaking to our reporter on behalf of Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, the Chief of Staff of the Techiman Traditional Council, Nana Stephen Akumfi Ameyaw, disclosed that the Techiman Paramount Chief was displeased with the post-election violence that erupted in Techiman. However, he expressed gratitude to all relevant stakeholders who worked to preserve peace and harmony in Techiman during those challenging times.

He also commended the Techiman Divisional Police Command for their professionalism throughout the year especially when their office was vandalized by some party sympathizes during the collation of the December 7th, 2024 parliamentary election results.

“On behalf of the Techiman Traditional Council, Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

“Nana was displeased with the post-election violence in Techiman but in all, peace prevailed and for that, he is grateful to all and sundry who ensured the that peace and unity in Techiman was preserved.

“Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, strongly condemns the attack on the police while also commending them for their good work in maintaining law, order, and stability during the post-election period Techiman and in the year 2024 at large.” He said

Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, in his Christmas message delivered through Nana Stephen Akumfi Ameyaw, urged the people of Techiman to rally behind their Member of Parliament and the incoming government to ensure the development of Techiman reaches the highest standards.

He also called on settlers in the Techiman Traditional Area to join hands in developing Techiman, stating that the community welcomes everyone regardless of their background and does not discriminate.

“We can all attest to the fact that Techiman is rapidly developing, Techiman is no longer a Municipalilty but now a Metropolis, for this matter, Nana wants all of us to unite behind our Member of Parliament, our new Mayor and the new government to ensure that Techiman keeps developing to the highest standard.

“We humbly appeal to all settlers in Techiman to treat the city as their own because the Traditional Council including all indigenes of Techiman does not discriminate. We can boldly say that Techiman has welcome more settlers than any other city in the country.

“We share our resources equally with everyone in Techiman irrespective of their background and we kindly urge all settlers to abide by the laws of the land and we believe that by so doing, we can develop Techiman together.” He added.
