Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, has descended on the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama for their promises.
According to her, several promises were made by the past and present governments but they failed to fulfil them.
Both the leaders of the two political parties have promised to support the creative arts industry.
Among other things, former President Mahama has said his next administration will establish a film village and a special TV channel for the creative arts industry.
For his part, the Vice president promised tax breaks for film producers and musicians, creating digital and streaming platforms for Ghanaian artists, and also improving the Year of Return, Beyond the Return, and December in Ghana initiatives aimed at increasing income and global recognition.
But in an interview with JoyNews monitored byElvisanokyenews.com, Yvonne Nelson stated she doesn’t believe in any politician.
Adding that she is only focusing on improving her business and creating job opportunities for Ghanaians.
“They are all promising, but I just want to let my colleagues and the industry know that story, story, we have heard and heard but look. Politicians love to talk, and you can believe them if you like. But for me and some of us, we would rather concentrate on our businesses and do what we can for Ghanaians, creating employment and helping the future generation.” She stated.
Yvonne Nelson urged politicians to prioritise on how to fulfil their promises rather than the talking.
She said talk is cheap.
“As for the promises, I don’t even know, I have not even heard. This has not been the first time, it has been said so many times but their actions should show. Talk is cheap.” The actress said.
