The Assistant Coach for the Sudanese national football men team, Ignatius Osei Fosu, has praised the performance of the Black Stars of Ghana in the 0:0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ignatius Osei Fosu, is of the view that, it was “hard luck” for Ghana not to walk away with a victory, given the numerous goal scoring opportunities they created throughout the game.
The game, which was the third match in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers was a tense affair with the Black Stars of Ghana dominating all affairs of the match.
In his post-match conference, the former Techiman Eleven Wonders coach, Ignatius Osei Fosu, although praised the performance of the Sudanese national team especially their defense department, said had it not been hard-luck, the Black Stars of would have win the game considering the number of goal scoring opportunities they created.
“It was a game that was really really difficult because Ghana played so very well, I think there was hard luck on Ghana’s side because there were some footballs our goalkeeper Mustafa saved that I never thought it would be saved.” He said.
One of the key highlights of the match was the performance of Sudan’s goalkeeper, Muhamed Mustafa Muhamed Ahmed who made several critical saves that kept his team in the game.
“So for me it was hard luck on Ghana’s part, they played very very well but again, for us we were defensively solid, we knew it was going to be hard because they have the fans with them and so they were going to come hard on us. So we were only waiting for some counter breaks which I think we had two or four of them but the end product was not that good for us.
Despite the draw, Osei Fosu was keen to acknowledge the tactical discipline exhibited by both teams.
