Students of Dunkwa Senior High Technical in school at Dunkwa-on-Offin of Upper Denkyira East district of the Central Region goal to become responsible leaders and well-informed citizens took a trip to Ghana’s Parliament to experience parliamentary proceedings and receive a word of advice from the distinguished House of Honourables.
The trip enabled the students to gain better interactions with some Members of Parliament and also witnessed parliamentary proceedings.
It was a fantastic experience as the students had the opportunity to engage their Member of Parliament who briefly introduced them to major matters within parliament and how the Speaker of Parliament goes about the business in the house.
It was indeed a day each student will never erase from memory. A memorable experience indeed. Congratulations to organizers especially Mr. Anane Coleman, Mr. Awudu Bashiru Boye, Madam Anastasia and the Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira East, Hon. Dr. Festus Awuah.
The students expressed their appreciation to the school management and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP, Hon. Dr. Festus Awuah who took them through Parliamentary proceedings.
“We are very grateful to the organizers and the MP for helping us to experience this. We appreciate such philanthropist gestures.” Some of the students said.
“I was very excited to be in Parliament today, I have learnt a lot and got the opportunity to interact with some MPs, I thank the leaders. They should continue helping students.” One student indicated.
This opportunity should remind Ghanaians especially those who are 18 years and above to be part of the gneral elections scheduled for December, 2024.
The youth are entreated to avoid being used for the wrong reason. They should rather join the campaign for peace building. “Every individual should ensure peaceful Coexistence before, during and after the election.”
Educationist Ahadzi Emmanuel urged every Ghanaian eligible voter to participate in the General elections come December 7.
He advised the various political parties to desist from posing threat and causing chaos during the election day to maintain peace and stability in the country.
