Nsoatreman FC attacking midfielder, Stephen Diyou, has affirmed his team’s determination to secure a win in their upcoming match against Asante Kotoko.

The Nsoatre based club will face the Porcupine warriors on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Nana Professor Koromansa II Park in round 19 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Nsoatreman FC, who finished 5th in last season’s Ghana Premier League and won the 2023 / 2024 MTN FA Cup, are struggling to find their form this season. The team is current sitting 14th on the Ghana Premier League standings, having won 4, drawn 6, and lost 8 of their 18 matches so far.

However, Stephen Diyou, has expressed confidence that the team is well-prepared to earn a positive result against the current league leaders when they meet on Sunday.

According to him, the playing body is focused on improving their position on the league table and are motivated to secure three points and climb higher. Diyou also expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and readiness to face the tough challenge ahead.

“What I can say is that past performances don’t matter during matches. We are fully focused and prepared for the game against Asante Kotoko, and we will give our best effort.

” I have faced most of the current players at Kotoko, I know what they are capable of and they also know what I and the players of Nsoatreman can do so we are fully prepared for the game.

” It is my prayer to get a good game against Kotoko and help my team to win, our position on the league table is not good so we are determined to win the game and improve our standing.

“This is our motivation, and we owe it to the club and our supporters. We know things haven’t gone as expected, but we’re confident that we can get a win against Asante Kotoko. I encourage our supporters to come out in their numbers and show their support.” He said.

The 21-year-old left winger acknowledged the team’s poor form and offered an unreserved apology to the supporters. He attributed the team’s struggles to fatigue from their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“It is true that things have not been going well for us, and I believe this is partly due to the fact that we played in the CAF Confederation Cup, which may have left us a bit exhausted.

“The management, technical team, and players are all unhappy with the results we’ve been getting this season, and we apologize for that.” He said
