In the quest to beat environmental pollution and save the environment for the future generation, a Non-Governmental Organization , Stapha enterprise service Limited which is based in  the capital of the Bono East Region,Techiman, has launched a sanitation club in the Techiman South Municipality.

Stapha Enterprise Services Limited, was the main partner for the just ended World Environment Day celebration in the Bono East region which was held on June 5, 2023 at  the Bamiri Yaw Kromo Community center.

Chief Executive Officer for Stapha Enterprise, Mr. Enoch Mustapha, speaking to classic FM news said “we want to use these little children to preach cleanness and inculcate in them the habit of not dumping plastic and other wastes into our river bodies”.

According to him, in order to beat plastic pollution and provide solutions to plastic pollution “there is the need to adhere to some basic observations and for individuals, institutions, communities  to unite in the fight against plastic pollution”.

He disclosed that, there are three principles used in environmental protection, “the three principles used in environment protection are reduction, reuse and recycle to ensure a clean environment.”

He further explained that the “SCHOOL SANITATION CLUB GHANA is the brainchild of the STAPHA Enterprise. We have a vision to rid all schools in the Techiman municipality of the School Refuse Dump System that has been a characteristic of our public schools.”

“Learners in school’s litter and dirty their school environments only to return the following morning to waste instructional hours to tidy up before academic work begins.”

Mr. Mustapha said “as the school club begins to take shape as expected, we shall introduce the one class one dust bin policy. This is intended to provide dust bines to beneficiary schools to provide the basis for an enabling environment for proper sanitation practices.”

Finally, he touched on how his outfit will dispose of the waste “the waste would be collected from the dust bins at the end of each school day and properly discarded.”

The motto for the  school sanitation club Ghana is  “Attitudinal change, A recipe for sanitation.”
