The Founder and Leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha has alleged that some fake prophets orchestrate fire outbreaks and other criminal activities in some parts of the country to prove their false and doom prophecies.

Kumchacha who described them as alcholic and foolish prophets said their desperation for fame forced them to do that to claim their prophecies came to pass.

According to him, the intervetion of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), George Akuffo Dampare to curb doom prophecies in the country has minimized their foolish prophecies and criminal acts which has ended many people into poverty.

“Before IGP regulated prophecies in the country, you could hear some prophets prophesying fire outbreaks in some parts of the country. Sometimes, no such icident could happen so these fake prophets send their foolish people to intentionaly go and cause the fire outbreak to claim that their prophecies have come to pass” Kumchacha alleged.

The outspoken man of God commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), George Akuffo Dampare for regulating prophecies in the country.

“IGP George Akuffo Dampare, may God bless him. The regulations to control doom prophecies will help us. If you are a prophet and claim that the IGP’s order has restricted you from prophesying then you are not from God but it’s your foolishness and eagerness for popularity that makes you think so. This indicates that a lot of prophets are fools, stupid, uncivilized; they make those foolish prophecies from their own mind.” Kumchacha stated.

In a video shared by Trends GH TV on their YouTube channel, he admitted that there are good prophets in the country ordained by God to speak the mind of God but the fake prophets are many.

“There are good prophets in the country, every good thing has its bad once but the bad once are many then the good once. Have you seen that last year they couldn’t make doom prophecies because of IGP restrictions? Can I IGP stop you from speaking the mind of God? Can IGP stop you from spreading a message of God to His people? If God revealed something to me to tell His people, the same God will give me wisdom on how to say it.  What I want to say is that, many of the prophets in this country are fools, they are mad, they don’t have wisdom. They just want to trend” Kumchacha agrily stated.

Prior to 31st December, 2023, the Ghana Police Service urged religious bodies to be circumspect in their activities most especially prophecies.

The Police said while the churches are enjoying their constitution right in this Christmas activities, they should be patriotic and avoid causing fear and panic.

In a statement issued on 27th December, 2023 and signed by Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Assistant Commissioner of Police Director, Public Affairs said faith- based groups and individuals should abide by the law to ensure that the prevailing state of law, order and security in the country is maintained.
