Ghanaian talented midfielder, Shawkan Mohammed, is set to snub Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko.
According to reports, Shawkan is in active negotiations with a foreign football club and he is currently waiting to join the said foreign based team as negotiations are far ahead.
Mohammed, who has been in high demand following his impressive performances during last season’s Ghana Premier League was expected to integrate into Asante Kotoko’s squad for their second phase of preseason training in Cape Coast.
Sources even disclosed that, he will complete his medicals for the Porcupine Warriors and will pen down a three (3) year permanent deal but the player has decided to hold out for a more attractive offer from a foreign club.
The 21-year-old midfielder, was a subject of a contract dispute against Accra Lions over a contract extension but he was cleared by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Player Status Committee as they ruled that Accra Lions made an error in unilaterally activating his contract extension clause. This decision invalidates the extension, freeing Shawkan to sign with any club.
Fans of Asante Kotoko were waiting to hear the “Here We Go” on the Shawkan’s deal but per our reports, the player may not even be in Ghana when the season starts as he is waiting patiently to sign for a foreign club.
Meanwhile, The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Player Status Committee has ruled in favor of Shawkan Mohammed in a contractual dispute with Accra Lions, per reports.
