Popular Event Organizer/Promoter and Master of Ceremonies (MC), Richard Amankwaa Boateng widely known as MC Mall Wasty has revealed Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr popularly known as Shatta Wale songs are spiritual.
According to him, the enthusiasm people show when you sing the “Dancehall King” song on stage to moderate a programme gives you more energy to perform well than other artists.
He said although fans respond to Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall and reggae musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy and Ghanaian singer and rapper, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, professionally known as Black Sherif, formerly Blacko songs but Shatta Wale songs come with a spirit.
“If you do a Stonebwoy song they are going to respond, if you do a Blacko song they are going to respond but to me Shatta Movement and their boss Shatta Wale song is spiritual” MC Mall Wasty made this revelation in an interview with Bra Kwaku on Elvis Anokye TV.
Speaking about Shatta Wale’s personality, MC Mall Wasty said he was shocked when he met the “Dancehall King” for the first time.
He stressed that the perception people have about Shatta Wale is wrong.
According to him, the artist is calm and kind unlike how he portrays himself on social media when you meet him.
“To me, I thought Shatta Wale is a jonki man, I am sorry to say that Shatta Movement, but seeing the man at the airport, though he didn’t come out the day we went to his house. I have met so many people but it was my first time, so meeting him at the airport, showing him his cars that were transporting him from Kumasi Airport to his destination I was shocked. We have met so many people but I was speechless and folded my arms when I met him. He is a very nice man, he likes people but what he doesn’t like is telling him lies” Mall Wasty disclosed.
Meanwhile, Shatta Wale has commended MC Mall Wasty for making that revelation.
In a Facebook post, Shatta stated that people fought DJ Vyrusky when he said that and now MC Mall Wasty is also speaking about spirituality.
“DJ VYRUSKY said this several times and they fought him in various ways they can ..Now MC Mall Wasty is speaking spirituality to them .. Dj wasty shatta get ur back 247 . Keep doing God’s work..Truth be one ,if you do not goh fit ,YOU FOR RUN !!! Shouts to Anokye TV” Shatta Wale wrote.
