Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority, Felix Gyamfi has disclosed that National Service Personnel will start to receive their allowances from today, Thursday, February 13, 2025.
He said President John Dramani Mahama who expressed worry about the delay in payment of the NSS allowance ordered for complete payment of all areas.
Speaking on PM Express on JOY NEWS, Felix Gyamfi stated that Ghanaians should be grateful to President Mahama.
“We should be very grateful to President John Dramani Mahama, we realize that even before he became president he expressed worry about the delay in payment of Service Personnel especially when the Service allowance was a meager figure (GHC 751). Considering that we have serious inflation so when we presented the figures to him, he ordered for complete payment of all areas.” He said.
“So from tomorrow (Thursday February 13) Service Personnel will start receiving all areas from August, September, October, November, December and January.” Felix Gyamfi assured.
He believes that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) fails to pay Service Personnel on time due to incompetence and bad governance.
” For the past 8 years in government I think it is also part of the corruption, incompetent we have to deal with because we don’t know the reason why Service Personnel meager allowances due them should not be paid on time.” The Director General stated.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has ordered a probe into the National Service Authority’s (NSA) operations under the previous administration, following the startling discovery of 81,885 suspected ghost names on its payroll.
“The Ministry of Finance has upon the completion of the head count, released an amount of GHS 226,019,224 covering allowance payment arrears for 98,145 actual National Service Personnel. This figure is 81,885 less than the 180,030 names presented by the previous management of the NSA for allowance payment in 2024.”
