Samuel Abu Jinapor allegedly visits Bolewura’s palace, Kutugefeso palace after ban from entering Gonja kingdom

Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor seems to have allegedly defied the order of ban from entering all palaces within the Gonja kingdom.

Paramount chief of the Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, has banned Lands Minister, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor from entering all palaces within the Gonja kingdom over what they described as disrespect and breach of tradition.

According to the traditional authorities, the king will never grant an audience to any government delegation, political party, or any person who pays him a visit once it includes Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor until he learns his tradition as a royal and learns how to respect the authority of the Yagbonwura.

In a press conference, the Yagbonwura’s interpreters stated that the statement of the king is final and binding on all paramount chiefs within the Gonja kingdom.

“The king will never grant an audience to any government delegation, political party, or any person who pays him a visit once it includes Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor until he learns his tradition as a royal and learns how to respect the authority of the Yagbonwura. This statement is final and binding on all paramount chiefs within the Gonja kingdom,” He said.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for the Damongo Constituency, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor was seen in a video at some palaces including Bolewura’s palace earlier on Sunday, 21 July, 2024.

Some reports also suggested he visited Kutugefeso palace and addressed them.

Political actors believe the decision by Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I to ban Samuel Abu Jinapor from entering all palaces within the Gonja kingdom will have a serious effect on the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) but the party remains confidence in winning the 2024 general elections.
