20-year old Spanish professional striker, Samuel Omorodion Aghehowa, popularly known as Samu Omorodion, is set to complete his move to Chelsea Football Club.
Samu Omorodion, has been Chelsea’s top transfer target in their attacking department since the start of the 2024 summer transfer window as the Blues seeks to find a competition for their 23-year old Senegalese professional, Nicolas Jackson. Senegalese Neymar was involved in 19 goals for Chelsea in the 2023/ 2024 English Premier League season, netting 14 goals in providing 5 assists in 34 games for the Pride of London.
However, most Chelsea FC fans including some management feels that Jackson can do better under Enzo Meresca should he get a good and healthy competition, a competition they believe Samu Omorodion can provide.
Samuel Omorodion Aghehowa, when complete his medicals, will sign a 7-year contract with the Blues, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until June 2031.
According to Fabrizio Romano everything is set for the transfer to be confirmed, with the deal costing Chelsea £35m. Personal terms have already been agreed with the player, who is set to sign a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge until 2031.
Samu Omorodion, during his loan at Deportivo Alavés, S.A.D, impressed across the 35 games he scored 8 goals with 1 assist in last season’s La Liga campaign.
With the imminent arrival of Samuel Omorodion Aghehowa, Chelsea FC will now have to decide what to do with Marc Guiu Paz, who joined Chelsea on 1st July, 2024 for a reported transfer fee of €million, signing a 5-year contract with Chelsea FC.
Born in Melilla to Nigerian parents, Omorodion moved to Seville at a young age. After playing for local side AD Nervión, he joined Granada’s youth setup in 2021
On 6 March 2022, Omorodion made his senior debut for Granada’s reserve team, Recreativo Granada, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 2–1 league home loss to Marchamalo. On 25 September, he scored his first senior goal, netting the B’s equalizer in a 1–1 draw against El Ejido.
