The project, which forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance access for rural communities, aims to improve mobility for farmers, traders, students, and households who rely heavily on the road network for their daily activities. Construction engineers and contractors have already begun preliminary works, including site clearance, surveying, and shaping of the first sections of the road.

The Techiman North District Chief Executive, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, explained that the upgraded road will significantly reduce travel time, improve market access, and boost economic activity for communities within the stretch. The initiative, according to him is also expected to enhance the transportation of agricultural produce, linking farmers more efficiently to major markets within Techiman North and beyond.

He further disclosed that Member of Parliament for Tehciman North,  Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, was instrumental in securing support for the project under DRIP, stating that improving rural roads remains a key priority in strengthening agribusiness and promoting inclusive development.

Mr. James Opoku, the DRIP Coordinator for Techiman North District, is overseeing the road construction to guarantee that all activities adhere to proper technical and engineering specifications.

In an interview with our reporter, he stated that continuous supervision and rigorous quality checks are being implemented across the project. He further  added that his team will carry out frequent site visits and performance reviews to ensure the work remains on track and results in a resilient, long-lasting road.

Residents of Subingya, Boadan, and surrounding communities have welcomed the commencement of construction, expressing optimism that the improved road network will bring relief, especially during the rainy season when the route becomes difficult to use.

Work is expected to progress steadily, with contractors assuring the public of adherence to engineering standards to ensure durability and long-term benefits for the district.
