The Techiman District Superintendent of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Augustine Agyapong Bae, has urged young people to place the acceptance of Jesus Christ at the very top of their priorities, portraying genuine faith in Him as a steadfast foundation amid life’s many trials.
Rev. Bae explained that welcoming Jesus into one’s heart provides the inner strength and endurance required to navigate hardships and unpredictable times effectively.
He warned against allowing difficulties or disappointments to drive the youth toward harmful or socially unacceptable behaviors, expressing alarm at the rising trend of gambling and similar negative habits taking hold among young people.
“My message to the youth is that accepting Jesus Christ should be their topmost priority. When they invite and accept Jesus Christ into their lives, they will be able to sail through the storms of life.
“The challenges they face should not frustrate them into venturing into lifestyles that are unacceptable in society. Betting and other social vices are gradually becoming the norm among the youth, largely due to the frustrations they experience in life.” He said.
Speaking to the media during the recently concluded 2025 31st All-Night Church Service, Rev. Bae encouraged the younger generation to hold on to hope and practice patience, pointing out that life progresses through different phases and that tough seasons are temporary.
“Life unfolds step by step, and there is always hope beyond the darkness,” he reminded them. “If your current circumstances aren’t what you hoped for, stay encouraged—things have a way of improving unexpectedly and turning positive before long.”
Rev. Augustine Agyapong Bae called on young people to depend on God’s direction and power, stressing that receiving Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior forms the essential bedrock for a purposeful, well-disciplined, and fulfilling life.
