The Pru West District Chief Executive, Hon. David Manu, has admonish youth in the Pru West District and Ghana at large, to rethink about their career path and venture into agribusiness.

Hon. David Manu said this during the celebrations of the 40th Farmers Day Celebration at Aboa, a few kilometers form Prang.

He applauded the gallant farmers in the district for their contribution in providing food for the district and country at large, he explained that, “farming is a unique enterprise which has been blessed by the Almighty God when he created human.”

“We have to thank our farmers for providing us food despite all  the challenges and difficulties they pass through, we say we are very grateful to them and we pray God blesses them with strength and good health.”

Hon. David Manu disclosed that, although climate change posses serious threat to farming activities, the NPP led government has put a lot of measures in place to ensure that farming become and profitable. He however urge farmers to adhere to the directive s of Agriculture Extension Agents in order to improve their yields.

“We have to listen to instructions from the agric staff this is because climate change has make farming very difficult so we have to listen to our agric officers because they are trained officers to help us in difficult times especially on how to use agrochemicals or applying agrochemicals on our farm produce.”

Touching on youth in agriculture, the Pru West District Chief Executive, appealed to the youth to venture into agriculture placing much emphasis on farming.

He said with youth in farming, “the unemployment rate in the country will reduce”. Hon. Manu also urged the youth to desists from all forms of social vices while encouraging them to be responsible individuals in the society before, during, and after the upcoming polls.

“Ghana will continue to move forward after the elections but we should remember that any little mistake we make can hinder our progress, so I will advice all of us to conduct ourselves in an orderly manner before, during, and after the elections.
