Professor Karley calls for peace and unity for development among Mo Traditional Areas

The Paramount Chief of the Jama Traditional Area and President of the Four Mo Traditional Areas across the Savannah, Bono, and Bono East Regions, Naa Lanjagor Karley II, known in private life as Professor Noah Kofi Karley, has emphasized the need for peace and unity as essential pillars for development and progress.

Speaking in an interview with the media at his palace in Jama, Professor Lanjagor Karley II,  stated that no community can achieve meaningful development without peace and its close companion, unity.

He expressed concern that the Mo Traditional Areas, which span the Savannah (Jama and Bamboi), Bono East (New Longoro to Kintampo), and Bono (Branam) regions, have lagged behind in social amenities and infrastructure development.

According to him, this reality has inspired the four paramount chiefs of the Mo land to come together with a renewed vision to fight poverty, promote education, and foster development for their people.

“It is a timely intervention for the four prominent paramount chiefs to unite and relieve their people from poverty and hardship. We must educate our people to understand that we are one family with a shared destiny.” He stated

He further called on all Mo citizens, both home and abroad, to support this renewed agenda for development.

“We need every Mo citizen to come on board. Join hands with your chiefs and people to become shareholders in the development of Mo land. We can only develop if we work together.”

The four paramount chiefs spearheading this unity drive include Naa Lanjagor Karley II (Jama Traditional Area), Naa Kwaku Dapaa II (Bamboi Traditional Area) both in the Savannah Region, Naa Kwaku Bediako V (Branam Traditional Area) in the Bono Region and Naa Kwaku Dankwa III (Kintampo Traditional Area) in the Bono East Region.

Professor Karley also appealed to the youth to avoid social vices and channel their energy into productive activities that will uplift their communities.

“Any nation that observes its laws prospers. Let us ensure that peace, unity, and happiness reign among us, the youth must not take the law into their own hands but rather make the people of Mo proud.”
