Her Royal Highness, Princess of Wales is expected to spend 10 to 14 days in hospital following planned abdominal surgery.
The member of the British royal family was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, 16th January, 2024 for a planned abdominal surgery, according to Kensington Palace.
A statement released by Kensington Palace said the surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for 10-14 days, before returning home to continue her recovery.
It added that Catherine popularly known as Kate will attend to public duties after Easter based on her medical advice.
“Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to hospital yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public until after Easter ” The statement said.
The statement added that Kensington Palace will only provide updates on Her Royal Highness progress when there is significant new information to share.

The public is urged to be mindful of the 42 year old Princess’ desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible and ensure that her personal medical information remains private.
