Former Black Stars player, Prince Tagoe has emphasized the need for the government to expand the infrastruture and properly invest in Ghanaian football.
He understands that a lot of talented players in Ghana have not been discovered and those who have come out are not performing to the meet international standard due to lack of infrastructure and support.
According to him, 16-year-old right winger for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spain national team, Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana is exhibiting his superlative performance due to good foundation from his club.
“I think he is a very good player, and are you suprise something like this has happened? Don’t be surprised because they have built a good infrastructure from the beginning and everything is going on well with them. So when talent like this comes out, you have to know that their foundation is very solid.” Prince Tagoe said this during a panel discussion on Angel TV monitored by Elvisanokyenews.com.
The Sports television panelist believes Ghana can also produce good players like Yamal to develop Ghanaian football if the government and other stakeholders consider building a good infrastructure and invest properly in the sports sector.
The Ghanaian former professional footballer who played as a forward maintained that there are good players in Ghana so the government needs to work hard to improve their talents.
“If we were also doing the same thing, definitely we would also have more players like him. Sometimes we put things in place to build stadium, infrastructure but we are not doing anything. They have quality training from the beginning, the system is working so everything goes for their benefits so I am not surprised.” He emphasized.
Prince Tagoe is not the only football person who has raised concerns about the lack of infrastructures and investment in the sporting activities in Ghana.’
They understand that Ghana has been left behind in terms of football and sports in general due to poor facilities for the players to improve their skills.
