A presidential staffer, Dennis Miracle Aboakye,  has called on all Ghanaians to embrace and utilize the performance tracker recently launched by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr. Aboakye disclosed that, the performance tracker is a crucial tool that supports key components of good governance, such as accountability and transparency. He believes the tracker will enable citizens to closely monitor the activities and achievements of the government, thereby enhancing public trust and participation in the democratic process.

According to him, the performance tracker launched by the NPP led government, is a significant step towards strengthening the bond between the government and the people as it will provide real-time data and information on the implementation of government policies and programs, he said it empowers citizens to hold their leaders accountable and make informed decisions.

“I think it is something that we need to encourage, key component of proper governance is accountability and transparency for that matter and I think once we are moving towards a digital age, its a way to go.

“Let the people know what is happening, let them critique it, let them, let them query it, there is noting wrong if you put yourself out there for the people, they even identify gaps and raise concerns about those gaps, so it is government way of accounting.” He said

He made this assertion in an interview on JoyNews’ PM Express monitored by elvisanokyenews.com

Dennis Miracle Aboakye, further explained that, the performance tracker, is a continuation of a project initiated by the sitting government to bring governance close to the people by providing them with answers related to government projects.

“The performance tracker is an upgrade of what we did already, if you will recall in 2020, where we sort to put some of the projects that government has run, so this is a continuation of something we have been doing already, I’m sure you are very much aware of it.”

“I think the first one is what we called the delivery tracker and this is the performance tracker, basically an upgrade on what we did in the past.”

The presidential staffer further highlighted that the tracker aligns with the NPP’s commitment to promoting good governance and delivering on its campaign promises. He urged all Ghanaians, regardless of their political affiliations, to actively engage with the platform and provide feedback to help the government improve its service delivery.
