The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has said power outage experienced by residents of Adum Central and surrounding areas was caused by a vandalized transformer caused by unknown individuals at Adum Central Business Center near Old Melcom.
According to ECG, the situation is not intentional and assured that their Engineers are working assiduously to rectify the fault and restore supply.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana, Ashanti West Region, wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public in the underlisted areas that the outage being experienced is as a result of a vandalized transformer caused by unknown individuals at Adum Central Business Center near Old Melcom.” ECG said in a statement issued on Monday, February 17, 2025.
The power supply agency expressed regret about the development and assured their customers that power will be restored as soon as possible.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience caused to the affected customers.” Part of the statement.
