Police restore calm after violent mob attack at Kwame Danso

The Bono East Regional Police Command has restored calm at Kwame Danso in the Sene West District following a violent mob attack on the District Court and the District Police Headquarters on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

According to a statement signed by the Staff Officer of the Bono East Regional Police Command, ASP Mr. Appiah Danquah, the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. when an irate mob of about 100 youths besieged the Kwame Danso District Court premises while proceedings were ongoing. The attackers vandalized furniture, fans, and other items at the court, assaulted persons present, and forcibly took away two accused individuals who were standing trial.

The statement further revealed that the mob extended the attack to the Kwame Danso Police Headquarters, where they assaulted two officers on duty and vandalized the station.

A reinforcement team from the Atebubu Division, supported by a detachment of the Formed Police Units (FPUs), was quickly deployed to the scene to restore order.

Following directives from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Kwame Danso Police Station and District Police Headquarters have been temporarily closed, and personnel have been reassigned to other parts of the region.

The Bono East Regional Police Command has assured the public that all individuals connected to the attack will be pursued, arrested, and made to face the full consequences of the law.
