The former EC Boss Chair of the Oguaa Fetu Afahye Planning Committee, Charlotte Kesson-Smith Osei has described the people of Cape Coast as good people and that they should come together and rebuild the city.
She said the history of Cape Coast clearly defined their people and the land.
Speaking at the launch of Oguaa Fetu Afahye, Charlotte Osei underscored the need for the people of Cape Coast to rebuild the city and use it to change a better future.
She indicated that the young people in Cape Coast need skills, good health care, access to Education and the responsibility to create these opportunities for the young people to secure a better future is in the hands of themselves.
“Cape Coast is a good land and the people of Cape Coast are good people, this is our history, this is the history of our city, we must build on this history and use it to charge a better future. Our young people need skills and they need jobs. Our people need access to good health care and education, the responsibility to create opportunity for our people is in our hands.” She emphasized.
She also urged the people of Cape Coast to use the Oguaa Fetu Afahye to unite and settle their disputes to create good opportunities for the next generation.
According to her, the historic city of Cape Coast deserves progress and Afahye is a time for renewal and for rebuilding and therefore they must use this year’s Afahye as the tool to rebuild Cape Coast.
“Afehye is a time of celebration, it is also a time for reconciliation therefore, let’s bring an end to all the disputes that separate us. Afahye is a time for renewal and for rebuilding, we must use this year’s Afahye as the tool to rebuild Cape Coast.” The for EC boss stated.
Oguaa Fetu Afahye is an annual festival celebrated by the people and chiefs of Cape Coast Traditional Area in the Central Region of Ghana.
