The Paramount Chief of MO Traditional Area in the Bono East Region, Nana Kwaku Dankwa III, has called on all citizens of MO and its environs to uphold peace, unity, and respect for the laws of the land as a path to progress and development.
Nana Kwaku Dankwa III made these remarks while speaking to our reporter at his palace in Kintampo after this year’s Pidia Yam Festival.
Reflecting on the just-ended festival, he disclosed that the people of MO, across the Bono East, Bono, and Savanna Regions, must embrace unity to drive development in their communities.
According to him , “there can be no meaningful development and progress in the area without peace and unity. The ancient Romans became a world empire because of peace, understanding, family unity, and respect for law and authority. These values paved the way for their success.”
He further warned that the fall of the Roman Empire serves as a lesson, explaining that disunity, litigation, and misunderstanding can destroy a great society. Nana Dankwa III, popularly known as Asomdwoehene, urged all to emulate the good examples of the past and discard negative practices. He expressed confidence that MO would rise to achieve remarkable development.
During the recent Nkyifie Yam Festival celebration of Nana Kwadwo III of Prang, which coincided with his 60th anniversary, Nana Kwaku Dankwa III, reflected on the chief’s life, describing him as “lovely, kind, peaceful, and forgiving.” He encouraged citizens to emulate such values to foster development in MO.
Speaking during the Pidia Yam Festival, Nana Kwaku Dankwa III reiterated the importance of peace and unity, stating that Nnaa Kooro of JAMA Traditional Area, Nnaa Lanjagor Karley, also stressed the role of peace in achieving development and progress.
“Our main goal is to build a modern palace for the people of MO, and without peace and unity, this cannot be achieved. This year’s festival was unique because it was the first time it was jointly celebrated with the Paramount Chief, reflecting our readiness to work together for our community,” Nana Dankwa III said.
He appealed to citizens, both locally and abroad, to see themselves as one people committed to the betterment of MO Traditional Area, following the example of their forebears like Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III, Paramount Chief of Prang.
“Peace, unity, forgiveness, and respect for law and authority are key. My doors are open 24 hours for discussions and suggestions.” He stated
