“Only one electoral area in Asunafo North Constituency don’t have a CHPS compound” – Hon. Evans Opoku Bobbie

The Member of Parliament for Asunafo North Constituency and Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports,Hon. Evans Opoku Bobbie, has commissioned a modern V.I.P ward at the Goaso Municipal Hospital in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.

The new ward is equipped with 10 rooms while each room has a massaging bed, television, kitchen and a bathroom. The ward cost GH¢ 400,000.

Hon. Evans Opoku Bobbie, during the commission said “when it comes to health related issues in the Municipality, although I’m not a medical officer but in terms of infrastructures and its coverage, I will rate it 75% to 80%”.

According to him, the central government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Yaw Boahen, has ensured that 29 out of the 30 electoral areas in the municipality has a Community Health-Based Planning Services Compound (CHPS compound) which helps in delivering quality health care services to the people of Asunafo North.

“Infact, in 2016, when Nana Addo won power and we formed a new government in 2017, we had only 4 CHPS compounds in our municipality but we have been able to construct a lot more and it’s left with only the Manukrom electoral area that does not have a CHPS compound . He revealed.

Hon. Evans Opoku Bobbie also urged the hospital to prioritize maintenance to ensure the longevity of the newly commissioned ward.

The Asunafo North Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Osei Yaw Boahen,  applauded their Member of Parliament for his efforts in ensuring quality health delivery in the Municipality.

“As we all know, health related issues are very important for our daily activities, so if our MP has helped us to get this ward, then you all should join me to thank him because this ward has all the necessary logistics needed for any proper hospital to operate”. The Municipal Chief Executive disclosed.

Hon. Osei Yaw Boahen, acknowledges the fact that the hospital faces some challenges such as accommodations for its staff including many others. He assured the gathering that within the shortest possible time, the government will solve their challenges and also urged some well meaning citizens to come to the aid of the hospital.

“We all know that from all corners, all segments of the society, people are demanding from the government, so I will plead with members of the society to also help the hospital when their help is required.” Hon. Osei Yaw Boahen appealed

Nana Appiah Kubi, speaking on behalf of Goasomanhene Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive for their commitment to improving the healthcare system in the municipality.
