Member of Parliament for Offinso North Constituency, Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim, has explained that, his vision is to leave the people of Offinso North with Three (3) public universities.
He therefore urged Nananom and the electorates of Offinso North to keep in Parliament and help him to achieve this dream.
According to the Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development; Offinso North Constituency is geographically located in the middle of Southern and Northern sectors of the Country, has massively benefited from President Akuffo-Addo led NPP Government’s Infrastructural projects and what is left is to make the place an educational hub or a citadel of knowledge.
“When it comes to education, my plan was to get Senior High Schools in the constituency then get tertiary”.
He further explained that, it is in this direction that he and the Offinso North District Assembly has invested majority of their resources in Basic & Secondary schools and is time to solidify their vision with Tertiary institutions hence the ongoing construction of the Local Government University at Akumadan and he is seriously lobbying to upgrade the National Ambulance Training School at Nkenkaasu into a full fletch University and also transform the Green House Project in the District into a University of Horticultural Studies.
“the first of it’s kind, is the Local Government University in the constituency, in the course of the year, we will open it, I’m also planning that within the next six years, we will get additional two Universities”. He said.
Hon. A. C. Ntim made this disclosure when he addressed Nananom, Honorable Assembly Members and Departmental Heads at the First Ordinary General Meeting of the Offinso North District Assembly and also used the opportunity to hand over 500 dual desks to be distributed to needed schools in the Constituency.
For his part, Hon. Albert Sefa Boampong the District Chief Executive for Offinso North advised the Education Directorate to cultivate the culture of maintenance into the children in order to make the desks last longer to serve its purpose.
” The Director of Education will put in place any internal mechanisms to ensure its maintainance”. He said

“For the vision to be realized, we have put in place some goals, which is both short term and long term, the short terms involves the basics cycle and the provision of the dual desks will help in achieving the short term goal”. He explained
Finally, Mr. Martin Addo Fordjuor the Offinso North District Director of Ghana Education Service received the desks, showed appreciation to Government and seized the opportunity to ask for more assistance.
