Majority Leader, Afenyo-Markin has charged members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work hard to achieve tasks ahead of them.
Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin who is the Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency in the Central Region admitted that the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia led NPP government is not perfect but they have to go out there and work hard to win the 2024 elections.
He said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has done a good job and that the party Executive, Parliamentary Candidates, Foot Soldiers and all sympathizers should join hands together and strengthen their campaign for the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to take over the mandate to Ghana.
“Let me repeat this, to party members, to NPP foot soldiers, to NPP Parliamentary Candidates, to NPP Executives, let’s go all out to work hard. President Akufo-Addo has done a good job, of course we don’t have a perfect government, we have elections to win.” He said this when speaking to the media after the Supreme Court ruling on 4 Members of Parliament whose seats were declared vacant by the Speaker of Parliament.
According to him, it will be a disaster if the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins the election and comes to power again.
He fears that if the NDC wins the December 7 poll, the next former president John Dramani Mahama’s administration will destroy the good work done by president Akufo-Addo.
The NPP has reiterated their commitment to win the election.
Commenting on the Supreme Court ruling, Afenyo Markin entreated all the parties involved in the matter including the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin to accept and respect the court ruling.
