The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended its Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator, Abdul-Fatawu Adam Danjega  over alleged misconduct with immediate effect.

According to the party, Abdul-Fatawu’s recent comments on social media and outbursts on radio and other media platforms have caused significant damage to the party’s reputation.

In a statement signed by the Northern Regional Chairman of the party, Mohammed Adam Samba said the decision was taken after the Regional Executive Committee meeting held on 12th October 2024 in line with Article 4(7a) of the party’s constitution.

“I write to officially communicate the Northern Regional Executive Committee’s decision to suspend you from your position as the Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator. Thus the decision was taken after carefully considering your recent comments on social media and subsequent outbursts on radio and other media platforms, which have caused significant damage to the party’s reputation.” The statement said.

“The Regional Executive Committee, in its meeting on 12th October 2024, arrived at this decision in line with Article 4(7a) of the party’s constitution, which clearly stipulates that any conduct by a member that brings the name of the Party into disrepute or public ridicule constitutes misconduct.” Part of the statement read.

The Northern Regional NPP said the issue has been referred to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for further review and action.

“In light of the severity of the matter, the Northern Regional Executive Committee has decided to invoke the original jurisdiction of the Regional Disciplinary Committee as permitted under Article 4(3)(2) of the Party constitution. As a result, the issue has been referred to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for further review and action.”

“Until further notice and pending the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings, you are hereby suspended from your position as Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator, effective immediately. We trust that you will cooperate fully with the Regional Disciplinary Committee.”
