Eugene Boakye Antwi, the Member of Parliament for Subin in the Ashanti Region has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lost the 2024 election because of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s failure to remove former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta in 2022.

He said keeping Ken Ofori-Atta at post till February 2024 meant that the NPP were not listening to the very people who voted for them to power and therefore didn’t deserve their vote in 2024.

According to him, the NPP 2024 election defeat is a punishment from Ghanaians and a bitter lesson to the party.

“Keeping Ken Ofori-Atta at post till February 2024 meant that we were not listening to the very people who voted for us and therefore didn’t deserve their vote in 2024. They have therefore PUNISHED us severely and taught the NPP a bitter lesson.” The MP who lost his seat in the NPP primaries posted.

Former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC have taken an early lead in both the Presidential and the Parliamentary elections.

Below is the Eugene Boakye Antwi’s post:

Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi MP writes:

We lost this General Election in the last quarter of 2022…the 90 MPs who mustered COURAGE and called on the President to RELIEVE the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta of his position due to his mismanagement of our economy, arrogance of power and arrant disrespect for the large swathes of society.

Keeping Ken Ofori-Atta at post till February 2024 meant that we were not listening to the very people who voted for us and therefore didn’t deserve their vote in 2024. They have therefore PUNISHED us severely and taught the NPP a bitter lesson.

Almost a third of Registered Voters (6 million voters) did not visit their Polling Stations to vote due to APATHY.

Goodnight to you all…
