Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh also known as Napo, the running mate to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 genenral elections has categorically stated that no president on Ghana has developed the country than President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He said not even the first president of the Republic of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah can be compared to Nana Addo in terms of development.
Speaking at his outdooring ceremony as the NPP running mate in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, the Minister of Energy said Akufo-Addo is the only president who has protected Ghana and helped ensure development in the country.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo will be remembered for his good works when he retires.
“In the history of Ghana from 1957 till now, if President Akufo Addo retires, I can beat my chest and say that no president has developed Ghana than President Nana Akufo-Addo. Whether your Kwame Nkruma ooo, or whosoever, nobody has protected Ghana and developed the country more than Nana Akufo-Addo.” Napo stated.
Napo stressed that there was no hope in Ghana during the NDC regime but Akufo-Addo came and brought hope in Ghana.
“Some people came and all hope was lost but Nana Akufo-Addo came and brought hope in Ghana. And his son Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will also lead us to the promised land. ” He said.
Adding that President Akufo-Addo will also make history in the NPP if the party wins December 7 polls.
He explained that Nana Addo is the only leader of the NPP who has presented his flagbearer to lead the party and will also
“Let’s all thank Akufo-Addo for what he has done. Nothing is beautiful than a father leaving a legacy and his son succeeding him and continuing his good works. Nana Akufo-Addo has given birth to Bawumia and today Ghanaians are welcoming him to lead the country. It has not happened before in the NPP. So let us unite and break the 8 to glory Nana Addo.” Napo emphasized.
