The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has mocked the Leader of United Party formerly Movement for Change, Mr. Alan Kyerematen saying his political party does not have any value in Ghana’s political landscape.
Comparing the United Party and Ghanaian businessman, Nana Kwame Bediako also known as Freedom Jacob Caesar or Cheddar political party New Force, the former Director of Communication for the NPP, Richard Ahiagbah stated that Alan Kyeremate’s party value remains less than 1%, far behind Mr. Kwame Bediako.
“Therefore, you may elect to call it the Movement for Change or the United Party; its value remains less than 1%, far behind Mr. Kwame Bediako, a new entrant into the political arena.” He wrote.
According to him, a name of a political party or Movement does not make someone successful, instead the individuals behind the name and their motivations.
“Success does not depend on the name of a political party or movement. Instead, it rests on the individuals behind the name and their motivations—whether they are driven by personal interests or the country’s well-being.” Richard Ahiagbah stated.
He therefore urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be focused on their agenda “Rebuilding Together With Our Values” in order to claim power in the 2028 elections.
“The NPP should ignore the bait to give their failed project oxygen. Instead, we must continue to focus on Rebuilding Together With Our Values. Still, the Elephant. The joke is on them!”
Meanwhile, Political Scientist, Dr. Isaac Brako has categorically stated that rebranding the Movement for Change to United Party will not change anything in the political system.
