The Bono East National Democratic Congress Regional Chairman, Hon Unas Owusu, popularly known as Chairman Unasco has built and commissioned a mosque for the people of Pomakrom in the Techiman South Municipality.
Chairman Unasco in an interview with the media revealed that his decision to build and commission a mosque highlights his commitment to religious inclusivity and respect for diversity within the community.
The mosque’s construction and commissioning, according to him, contribute to the overall development of the community.
“Places of worship often serve as hubs for community activities, social gatherings, and spiritual support. The mosque can become a focal point for community members to come together, foster unity, and address shared challenges.” He said
He said his motivation to build the mosque is rooted in his faith and dedication to Allah.
“My strength comes from Allah, I cannot do all these things without the help and strength from Allah. In Islam, there are things that when a Muslim does he or she is assured of Heaven and I can say that with the help of Allah, I have done all three”
“the first is to provide water for people and if not anything, I have constructed and commissioned more than two mechanical boreholes and this is the second Mosque I have built to glorify Allah so I know that I am on the right path.” He disclosed
Hon Unas Owusu stated that this mosque is among the many good things that he is doing to the people of Pomakrom exemplify a commitment to religious inclusivity, community development, and the recognition of diverse religious beliefs within the community.
The Bono East New Patriotic Party Regional Chairman, Ibrahim Baba Bukari, popularly known as Chairman IB was there to support his colleague chairman despite the political difference.
Speaking to the media Chairman IB stated that, “I am a Muslim and I came here to support my elder brother in doing Allah’s work, I am not here because of politics and I will advise all and sundry to be serious in the religion because after doing all our politics, we have a God that we will answer to”
On his part, the Bono East Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Musah Abdullah lauded the initiative of Hon Unasco to build a mosque for the community, he used the opportunity to urge others to also do the same to support Allah’s work.
