A former Member of Parliament for Amansie West Constituency in the Ashanti region and senior aide to the Running Mate of the NPP,  Hon Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has appealed to Ghanaians to vote massively for NPP government to safeguard the historic Free SHS program.

Hon. Dr. Joseph Albert Quarm, popularly known as Prof. Quarm, says the  recent Parliamentary boycotted by National Democratic Congress Members of Parliament, is testament enough that they don’t want to approves the Free SHS Bill.

According to him, NDC has no plans to improve the wellbeing of Ghanaians neither do they have any better policies to develop the country hence boycotting Parliament for several months, a behavior he said its uncalled for.

“For the past three months, the Minister of Education has presented a bill in Parliament to protect the Free SHS and help to improve the standard of education in the country but NDC MPs said they won’t go to parliament because they don’t want the bill for the Free SHS to the passed.

“That alone should tell you that the NDC are not in support of the Free SHS and if you take a close look at the statement made by former President John Mahama about reviewing and resetting the Free SHS Policy, it should tell you their stands.” He said

Hon. Dr. Joseph Albert Quarm, commended H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and H.E Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumiah, for their digitalization agenda that has improve the study of ICT in Senior High Schools.

He said the provision of tablets to SHS learners is in line with paradigm future prospects in globalization as the vision is imperative and therefore the NPP deserves to remain in power to continue with their good works.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says when he becomes the next President of Ghana, he will create over 4 million jobs for the youth and he has already provided tablets for all learners in second cycle institutions to expand their knowledge in ICT and prepare them adequately for the job market.” He said

Dr. Quarm continued, “because of the agenda 111, we will train more nurses to work in those hospitals and also export some, this is not brain drain because in the new paradigm shift seeks to build more human resources

“So we will train more nurses to work in our hospitals and also exports others and that will also help the government to generate foreign revenue for the country.” He said.
