The Greater Accra Zamarama Chief and National President of the Council the Zamarama Chiefs in Ghana, Alhaji Nana Musah Yahaya Yandu, has called for peace in the country as Ghana gears towards fhe 2024 elections.
Alhaji Nana Musah Yahaya Yandu, urged all individuals, families, and stakeholders to carefully play their part in ensuring a peaceful, free, fair and transparent elections and by doing so, he believes the pace and harmony currently being enjoyed in the country will be preserved.
Alhaji Yandu encouraged families to promote peace within their households, while urging community leaders to promote peace in their communities stressing that fathers, mothers, and children should discuss and preach peace among themselves.
He also appealed to politicians, traditional leaders, and all stakeholders to prioritize peace and refrain from actions that could spark violence.
“We thank the Almighty God for giving us this day, as we moving closer to the elections, it is our responsibility to promote peace in the country.
“I will entreat all and sundry, the youth, elderly, chiefs and queen mothers to be agents of peace, we should educate one another on the importance of peace before, during, and after the elections, there is no need for violence in this year’s elections.” He said.
He emphasized that peace and justice are intertwined saying “if we don’t take care and we allow violence to take center stage of the elections, we will regret it because all the development we are yearning for as a country will be in vain.
“However, as we seek for peace before, during, and after the elections, we must also seek for justice, because without justice, it will be extremely difficult for us to get peace. ” Alhaji Nana Musah Yahaya Yandu, told our reporter.
