The wife of sick Gospel musician Yaw Sarpong has revealed that her husband’s siblings are preventing her from visiting her husband.
She said the siblings who according to her don’t like her claimed their brother has divorced her.
“Yaw Sarpong is my husband, we have been married for 40 years now and unfortunately he feels sick and he was admitted at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, so we visit him and do the needful. One day I went there with my father and he told me that he is sick so my sisters say they want to take me to a pastor at Sokoban. And I asked him which pastor and he said Ampayoo so I should go home and pray for him.” She said.
“Even my father was angry that your wife who has been with you since her youthful age was supposed to go with you? So I said Papa no problem let’s go and we went home. I was not happy about four days later so I went there and saw that Tiwaa is taking care of my husband so I was shocked. A child I have stayed with for thirteen (13) years, why is it that you are the one taking care of my husband? In fact, I was angry.” The woman lamented.
Narrating her ordeal on Oyerepa Afutuo on Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, the woman identified as Adwoa said Yaw Sarpong’s sister who resides abroad one day told her that she is squadering her brother’s money.
“All the siblings of my husband don’t like me except Dada Poku so I was astonished about the development. So I thought they would sit down with me to settle our differences but it didn’t happen like that, what they were telling me was that they have divorced me. But the Asante tradition is not like that. So I don’t understand why things are like that. They said the Bishop says nobody should come here.” She added.
According to her, the family misused the money donated to her husband by the Vice president and the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
“The sad part of the story is that we were in Accra and heard that Bawumia visited my husband and gave him some. So I said it is good news, let’s use some of the money to continue his uncompleted building but they said no and they have misused the money.” She revealed.
