The Member of Parliament for the Salaga-South Constituency, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, is facilitating free National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) registration and renewal for residents within the Kulaw (Abromase) enclave as part of the ongoing Kulaw/Lor Ekun Homecoming activities.
The initiative, organised in collaboration with the Salaga District Office of the NHIS, has witnessed an impressive turnout, with scores of community members taking advantage of the opportunity to either register for the first time or renew their NHIS membership.
Residents expressed appreciation for the relief the exercise brings, especially at a time when access to healthcare remains a major concern for many rural communities.
The exercise in Kulaw follows similar successful engagements in the Kpembe, Kafaba, and Makango wards. During those events, Hon. Ibrahimah reiterated her resolve to increase healthcare coverage in the constituency by ensuring that more people are enrolled onto the NHIS.
She explained that the overarching goal is to guarantee that constituents, especially the vulnerable can access quality healthcare without financial barriers. According to her, initiatives like this remain central to her broader vision of improving the wellbeing of residents across Salaga South.
The free NHIS registration and renewal exercise continues as part of the Homecoming celebration, reinforcing the MP’s commitment to community development and accessible healthcare.
