Former Black Stars midfielder Michael Essien has successfully completed his UEFA Certificate in Football Management.
Essien who announced this on his Facebook page said it has been an incredible journey to learn how to lead and shape football’s future.
According to him, he is proud of gaining skills for life after football.
“Finally done with my UEFA certificate in football management journey. Thanks all for the help. I keep learning about the beautiful game.” He wrote.
Michael Essien who has been pursuing his UEFA coaching licenses and management certificates after retiring from football expressed his appreciation to fans and UEFA for making his dream come to pass.
“Football doesn’t end at the final whistle. Proud to have completed the UEFA Certificate in Football Management – Players’ Edition over the past 9 months — gaining skills for life after the game. It’s been an incredible journey, learning how to lead and shape football’s future, off the pitch. Thanks to UEFA for thinking about players and investing in our education! Want to level up off the pitch?” Essien added.
Meanwhile, fans have congratulated Essien and warned him not to involve himself in any football activities in Ghana to kill his career but others are also appealing to him to use his skills to change Ghana football.
“Congratulations pls don’t join Ghana team or any coaching job now ,just find a big experience coach and be his assistant, and gain more experience.” One user wrote.
