Ghanaian sports journalist, Saddick Adams also known as Sports Obama has reacted to players who were transported on the back of a pick up truck to competition in Borteyman as part of the ongoing African Games competition in Ghana.
According to him, appropriate sanction needs to be imposed on officials who were responsible for the incident.
He said people easily take responsibility for problems but they go unpunished, this, he believes, doesn’t deter others from repeating the same problem.
“It’s so rare to see people take responsibility for anything here. Nobody gets punished. A competition being hosted in their own country. No action, no sanction. Just business as usual.” He wrote in his X account.
About eight Ghana National Badminton players transported players on the back of a pick up truck to compete in Borteyman for their international match.
President of the Ghana Badminton Federation, Evans Yeboah, has explained that transporting the players on the back of a pickup truck became necessary after their regular bus shuttle broke down.
“On that morning, the bus that they were using had broken down on the expressway. So the coach in his own wisdom decided to bus them, as an interim measure, to bus them. By the end of the day, their regular bus schedule resumed and there was no problem,” he said.
But the Convenor of Fix Ghana Football movement has described it as Mess, mediocrity and incompetence.
“Mess, mediocrity and incompetence has been normalized. Imagine the unfortunate happening on the expressway. Just imagine.” He said.

I had to actually salute how officials justified why eight Ghana National Badminton players were transported in the bucket of a pickup truck from Tema to Borteyman for their international match.
A competition being hosted in their own country. No action, no sanction. Just business as usual.
Mess, mediocrity and incompetence has been normalized.
Imagine the unfortunate happening on the expressway. Just imagine.
