5 African players have added another title to their football careers after victory of a professional football club based in Leverkusen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany Bayer Leverkusen emerged winner of Bundesliga title for the first time.

The players through their hard work helped the club Bayer Leverkusen to beat  Werder Bremen 5-0 on Sunday to win the Bundesliga.

Sunday’s victory over Wender Bremen made the Germany football club achieve a milestone since the formation of the team in 1904 by employees of the German pharmaceutical company Bayer AG.

The 5 African players who were crowned Bundesliga Champions with Bayer Leverkusen are Edmond Tapsoba from Burkina Faso, Victor Boniface who is a Nigerian, Odilon Kossounou also from Côte d’Ivoire -Afcon, Nathan Tella another Nigerian player and Amine Adli from Morocco.

Ghanaian sports journalist, Juliet Bawuah on her X account congratulated the players for their efforts towards the historic victory.

Edmond Fayçal Tapsoba was born on 2 February, 1999.

He is a Burkinabè professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen and the Burkina Faso national team.

Victor Okoh Boniface was born on 23 December, 2000.

The Nigerian professional footballer plays as a striker for Bayer Leverkusen and the Nigeria national team. Boniface is renowned for his pace, strength, dribbling ability, finishing and work ethic.

Kouakou Odilon Dorgeless Kossounou is an Ivorian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or right-back for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen and the Ivory Coast national team.

He was born on 4 January, 2001.

Nathan Adewale Temitayo Tella is also a Nigerian footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or right winger for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. Born in England, he plays for the Nigeria national team.
