Ghana Football team giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC will present a joint team to travel to the United States for their upcoming game against DC United.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has already approved Kotoko’s participation in a high-profile international friendly match which is bein organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the GFA.
The much anticipated game, will be the second time a Ghanaian Premier League club has traveled to the United States to face an MLS side, following Medeama SC’s 2-1 loss in a similar friendly on October 14, 2023.
The Porcupine Warriors, are expected to depart to the USA October 9 ahead of their clash with DC United which is slated on on October 12, 2024, at the state-of-the-art Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
However, reports from multiple sources indicates that, Medeama SC will partner with Kotoko for the Capital City Africa Cup against DC United. Per reports, Medeama SC has already communicated with the players that will join Kotoko for the game.
The Capital City Africa Cup is part of the activities celebrating Ghana Week DC 2024, which runs from October 7 to 12. This matchup between two historic teams aims to amplify the celebration of Ghanaian culture in the capital
The joint team is expected to depart earlier this week, spend a few days in the United States before facing off against DC United.
Both Asante Kotoko and Medeama will not partake in this week’s Ghana Premier League Match Week 6 action as they prepare for the DC United Clash in the Capital City Africa Cup.
