Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful, sides with a man getting married to more than one woman, as practiced by the Islamic community.
According to Mr. Beautiful, the famous Biblical quote by Apostle Paul used by many in the book of 1st Corinthians, which says ‘a man is to have his own wife and a woman is to have her own husband,’ is his personal opinion.
He continued by saying that getting married to two or three wives brings peace and competition for the man.
“The problem with us Christians is those who interpret the Bible to us. The Quran used by Muslims is unique; we don’t have different versions or translations like the Bible.
God didn’t explicitly state that a man should marry one, two, or three women as wives,” he stated boldly.
The popular Kumawood actor furthered his argument with Zionfelix, saying that he doesn’t need love from any woman but respect, and he will interpret that as love.
“That is why there’s peace in Islam because the moment you get married to two or three wives, there is respect and competition, and each will respect you,” he said.
He finally stated that if he has the resources, he would marry more than four women because it would bring him peace.
“If anyone thinks that the current Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu, will die soon, then it’s a lie because his wives give him both financial and psychological peace.”
