Fallen Premier League giants Manchester United men’s first-team manager, Erik Ten Hag, has been sacked after losing to West Ham on Sunday.
The club announced that former player Ruud Van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach as the club is searching for a permanent head coach.
Manchester United in a statement said they are grateful to Erik Ten Hag for everything he has done during his time with the club.
” Erik Ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future,” the club stated in a statement.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited,” Manchester United announced on Monday.
Man. United’s heavy loss to West Ham marked their fourth defeat in nine league games in this season.
Earlier, speculation was made that Erik would be sacked after their 3-0 loss against Spurs.
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has sent a warm message to Erik Ten Hag following his sacking.
He expressed his appreciation to the former manager and wished him well in the future.
“Thanks for everything, boss! I appreciate the trust and the moments we share together, I wish you all the best in the future. Even knowing the last period hasn’t been great from all of us, I hope you fans can keep with you the good things Erik has done for our club”.
