The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly Known as General Mosquito, has revealed that the next government of former President John Dramani Mahama will prioritize the revamping of the Neoplan Ghana Limited.
According to him, Neoplan Ghana Limited, which was once the leading manufacturer of buses and coaches in Ghana, has faced significant challenges in recent years, including financial difficulties and a decline in production, emphasizing that the NDC is committed to reviving the ailing company and restoring it to its former glory. He stressed that the next Mahama government will provide the necessary support and resources to enable Neoplan to regain its competitive edge.
Speaking at the day two of the phase three of his retail campaign tour to the Ashanti Region where he engaged supporters and constituents of the Bantama Constituency(Duty Free),the chairman indicated that the NDC is committed to supporting Ghanaian industries, adding that Neoplan is no exception. “We will work tirelessly to ensure that Neoplan is revamped and restored to create jobs and drive economic growth for Ghanaians.”
He further noted that the reviving of the Neoplan’s buses and coaches will provide safe and reliable public transportation for Ghanaians to release pressure from especially in the Ashanti Region.
In other words, general mosquito stated that the Nana Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP), has abandoned the Neoplan Ghana Limited leading to accumulation of debts at the sector.
“The next Mahama government will provide financial assistance to help Neoplan settle its debts and restructure its operations”, he said
Mr. Kwadwo Addai Dapaah, the parliamentary candidate of the NDC for the Bantama Constituency expressed confidence in winning the Bantama seat the first time.
He therefore entreated the people of Bantama to vote for him and the flagbearer of the NDC in the upcoming elections.
