Mahama has zero track record of asking serious questions – NPP

The Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah has taken a swipe at former president and the flagbearer of the largest opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) for his comments on the new train crash.

A new train procured by the government from Poland which was undergoing a test run within the Asuogyaman District was involved in an accident with a truck abandoned on the Tema-Makanan railway line on Thursday, April 18.

Commenting on this, Mr. Mahama said if he was the president, he would be asking some serious questions on the accident.

He questioned how track inspection and other things were not conducted before the test was run.

“How can you conduct a test run on a new railway line without a track inspection? How long had the vehicle been on the track before the test run? If I were President, I’ll be asking some serious questions.” the former president wrote on his X.

Reacting to this Richard Ahiagbah categorically stated that the former president has zero track record of asking serious questions.

He said Mr. Mahama failed to ask serious questions when his Jubilee House staff designated President Uhuru Kenyatta as President of the Republic of Ghana during Independence Day Anniversary.

It would be recalled that in 2016, Ghana government officials confused Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta to be their own head of State during Independence Day Anniversary.

“H.E Mahama failed to ask any serious questions when his Jubilee House staff designated President Uhuru Kenyatta as President of the Republic of Ghana instead of himself, the President at the time. That negligence embarrassed Ghana Internationally. Thus, he has zero track record of asking serious questions.” Richard Ahiagbah wrote on his X.

He indicated that the train has left many unanswered questions, and serious questions are being asked to ensure the saboteurs are fished out.

“The derailment of the DMU train has left many unanswered questions, and serious questions are being asked to ensure the saboteurs are fished out.” He added.

Meanwhile, the track driver whose name was given as Abel Dzidotor has been sentenced to a six-month jail term.
