Ghanaian music legend, Appiah Dankwah populary known as Apietus has raised concerns about former president John Dramani Mahama coming back to lead Ghana again.
He said Mr. Mahama coming back is a disaster to the nation contrary to what the former president and the NDC are preaching and that is his greatest fear.
According to Apietus, he is campaigning for the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to win the election because the NPP flagbearer has four more years to contest an election again so he will deliver to the expectations of Ghanaians in order for him to ask for extension of power but former President Mahama has only one term and for that matter he can serve the country anyhow.
“Former President Mahama has only one term to serve as a President so if he come back to power he will perform worse than he did during his previous administration.” He said in an interview with Cape Coast’s Property FM.
“We should all make a good decision as a Ghanaians and vote for Dr. Bawumia to come to power. If he come and fails to perform, I hope Ghanaians will not forgive him, they will punish him in the next election but Mahama can not come to you and ask for your vote again so it will be dangerous for him (Mahama) to will this election.” Apietus added.
Apietus expressed optimistic that the NPP will win the election and continue their good works.
The 2024 general elections is crucial to not only the political parties but the entire citizens of Ghana.
To some Ghanaians especially the supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the return of former President Mahama is important because he alone can turn the fortunes of the country around.
While others also believe the New Patriotic Party (NPP) needs to retain in power to continue their good works.
