Former President John Dramani Mahama is in Abeokuta, Nigeria at the invitation of former Nigerian leader Olusegun Obasanjo to chair the launch and presentation of his new book.
The book has been titled, “The Art of Leading: unconventional wisdom from biblical leaders.”
According to the Special Aid to the former president, Joyce Bawah Mogtari the statesman will on March 05, 2024 also be the Special Guest of Honour at a Grand Lecture at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library to commemorate the 87th birthday of the former Nigerian president.
She wrote on her X that “while in Nigeria, Mr Mahama, who is leading the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the 2024 elections, will also be the Special Guest of Honour at an event honouring Dr Akinwunmi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank.”
The lecture will be attended by many world leaders, including former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, Prime Minister Mia Mottley of Barbados and HE Danilo Turk, former president of Slovenia.
Dr Adesina will be presented with the Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership at an awards presentation ceremony. The theme for the ceremony is “Transformational leadership and good governance: Lessons from the Awolowo example.”
Former President John Dramani Mahama has been re-elected as the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 elections.
According to a report, Mr. Mahama has also re-appointed former Minister of Education, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate.
Some political actors have described the 2024 general elections as crucial.
The opposition NDC has accused the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) of mismanaging the economy leading to the current hardship in Ghana.
They said it is time Ghanaians vote massively for the former president to come turn the economy around and bring relief to ordinary Ghanaians to improve their standard of living.
Ghana will hold the general elections on December 7.
