2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy has emphasized the need for Ghanaian artistes to respect Ghana Music Awards now Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
He said every Musician wants to work hard to win a Grammy Award which is also local to the Americans so Ghanaians should appreciate and protect their own before they push for international awards.
Speaking in TV3 monitored by Elvisanokyenews.com, the Ghanaian Afropop, Afro-dancehall and reggae musician indicated that he has very great respect for Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA),
“I really have great respect for Ghana Music Awards and it is obvious that everybody can see the energy I put in it. Because that is the Ghana Music Awards. In as much as we want to grow out of our country in terms of height and enter into GRAMMY’s and other international awards, we have to understand that those awards are also local awards to the Americans.” Stonebwoy said.
According to him, it is imperative for Ghanaian Musicians to give more respect to their local award scheme because without Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), Ghana music industry has nothing to boost off.
“So it is really important to honour ours because without Ghana Music Awards there is nothing else. I really love to be at home if I have to be there, even on days that I am not performing which was last year, I attended and presented an award so I cherish it to be honest” He stated.
The Ghana Music Award now Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) which stands as an annual hallmark event within Ghana’s music industry aims to among other things honor and appreciate musicians and other music industry players who released work(s) that generated the most public excitement within the calendar year of the scheme.
Stonebwoy was nominated among other artists included, Sarkodie, Black Sheriff, King Promise, Nacee and Kuami Eugene won the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artist of The Year.
