Four inmates have been discharged at the Kumasi Central Prisons in the Ashanti Region on an amount of GHS 5,000.
The inmates were part of those who were fined a certain amount of money but could not pay due to financial challenges irrespective of how less each person was fined.
The fee for their fines was paid by Mr. Kwadwo Adomako of ‘Adomako Phones’ with the support of some friends.
Adomako on his birthday celebration on the 25th of April,2023,which he celebrated with the inmates by providing cooked food for every single inmate in the Prisons, saw the need to pay for the fees of the four who’s fines were much lesser after spending much on the inmates during the birthday.
According to him, the Bible charges Christians to help the needy and so had to honor that quote in the Bible.
He urged the inmates who were discharged to stay clear of behaviours that will subject them to going back to the house.
Superintendent Richard Bukari, the Public Relations officer (PRO),for the Ashanti Regional Prisons, thanked Mr Adomako for the kind gesture and asked for God’s blessings for him and his friends and family.
He stated that this will help reduce pressure from the house and also reduce government’s expenditure on the inmates as well.
Bukari further called on stakeholders and other individuals to always consider the inmates in our various prison centers.
The inmates also thanked Mr Adomako for his kind hearted gesture. They advised the general public to portray good characters and stay away from behaviours that will jeopardize their lives.
